Skins are special files that contain information which can drastically alter the appearance of MACAST. Skins can change the positions of the buttons, or include only some of them. Skins give the user a way to customize MACAST's appearance.
Acquiring skins
Skins can be downloaded from <http://www.macast.com/addons/>. Unfortunately, skins from our beta period are incompatible with MACAST 1.0 and later. Thankfully, we do not foresee any further skin format changes.
Installing Skins
Skins need to be decompressed and moved to the Skins folder inside the MACAST 1.0 folder.
Activating Skins
Select a skin from the Skins menu in MACAST 1.0 to activate it. Choosing "Other…" from the Skins menu will bring a dialog box that allows skins outside of the Skins folder to be selected and activated.
Skin Making
A link to a third party skin making guide is available at <http://www.macast.com/resources.shtml> and a third party skin making forum is currently located at <http://www.interlog.com/~crispin/discus/>. As these are neither created nor maintained by @soft, we can not provide support for them.
Finally, all skinmakers are asked to please read the included briefing paper about skins.
